The GLT program will be held from Wednesday 17 May to Friday 19 May 2023.
The program provides training on foundational competencies for new government lawyers. It is sponsored by the Australian Government Legal Service (AGLS) Board, with a GLT Working Group (GLTWG) managing the agenda and guest speaker program.
The program runs across three days, with a range of presenters and panellists. Each session is led by a member of the GLTWG. The Keynote Speaker is Katherine Jones PSM, Secretary, Attorney‑General’s Department.

Rydges Canberra is centrally located in Forrest ACT, while the venue has been in Canberra for over 40 years the property has undergone renovations during 2019 giving the hotel a modern feel and appearance.
You will find everything you need within the hotel, including the George Bar and Grill, free WIFI and lift access.

PARKING
Car parking is available within Rydges hotel, it is limited and subject to availability at the time of arrival. You can pre book your parking by scanning the QR code below.
Parking is $15 per day, which you can also pay at reception with cash or card. This cost is not covered by the registration fee and is the responsibility of any participant requiring parking.
Alternatively there is parking at Wilson Parking which is a 5 minute walk – 78 Franklin Street Forrest approximately $15 per day.

The safety of participants is our priority. Whilst we intend to deliver the GLT in person, the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic means we reserve the right to postpone the program without notice. This training program is a cost-recovered initiative of the AGLS. Accordingly, we are unfortunately unable to provide refunds if a registered participant can no longer attend the training. If, after successful registration, you are unable to attend, please liaise within your organisation to transfer your registration to another person to attend in your place. Transfer of or any changes to your registration can be made by contacting Conference Co-ordinators at conference@confco.com.au
Other than the ticket price, to which the above conditions apply, the costs of a participant’s attendance at the GLT, including any travel and accommodation costs and incidentals, are incurred at each participant’s sole risk and will not be reimbursed in-part or in‑full.
